"Leave it Better Than You Found it" Principle

Hello! I'm just sharing a short and sweet post with you today. Something I've been trying to impress upon my kids lately is the "leave it better than we found it" principle. Basically, it goes something like this: if we go to a park and see a piece of trash, then we pick it up instead of just walking on past. Therefore, we leave the park better than we found it. Or, after washing our hands in a bathroom, we can wipe off the water on the counter and once again leave it better than we found it.

This principle especially holds true when we are guests in someone's home. We might not always leave it better, but we can certainly get it back to the state in which we arrived.

I wonder how much cleaner the world would be if everyone practiced this principle! I'm enjoying the sunshine and the hope of spring coming soon North Texas! I hope you have a great day and wherever your daily travels take you, I hope you choose to leave it better than you found it!

Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory
    in the heavens.
Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a stronghold against your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.
When I consider your heavens,
    the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?
You have made them a little lower than the angels
and crowned them with glory and honor.
You made them rulers over the works of your hands;
you put everything under their feet:
all flocks and herds,
and the animals of the wild,
the birds in the sky,
and the fish in the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.
Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth.
Psalm 8

Blessings,
Jennifer
